A single stage air compressor works using the force of a piston and pressure sensitive valve.The piston is at the top of the cylinder and there is air inside. When turned on, the piston slides down the cylinder compressing the air to a certain level. Once this pressure level is achieved, a release valve opens and the compressed air is released into a chamber. This same action occurs on the resulting upwards stroke of the piston. Air is again compressed and released. |
