It has powerful vacuum pump, cleaning fluid spraying mechanism, scrubbing or a soaking pad made out of industrial grade sponge. It overcomes the limitation of the floor sweeper by cleaning the floor of dirt along with oil, chemicals, liquids, grease and other sticky matter. The cleaning liquid is sprayed on the surface and vibratory scrubbing pad works on to loosen dirt and clean the surface. The waste liquid is quickly sucked back into the machine through vacuum and what is left behind, is a shiny and spotless floor surface.
If the spills are larger in nature and occur frequently then a sponge pad is a better option because it has high water retention capability, which makes it easy to absorb the liquid and dry up the floor. The addition of steam as cleaning agent has made automatic floor scrubber drier more effective cleaning machine. Instead of using chemicals that can harm the environment, steam offers a safer option. The superheated dry steam is sprayed on the floor. The heat and pressure of the steam loosens the dust and grime from the floor and is wiped clean by the scrubber pad. Besides this superheated steam kills bacteria and virus on the floor and makes it completely hygienic. Hence steam cleaning machines are widely used in hospitals and medical centers, where high standards of hygiene are necessary for the good of the all the stakeholders.
Automatic floor scrubber drier works well on floors made of concrete, because the rough texture requires intensive cleaning to remove dirt. However for polished floor surface, sponge pad is more suited because it can easily absorb the liquid from the surface to dry it. The ride-on scrubber and walk-behind scrubber have their own benefits. The user should carefully weigh in all requirements before selecting the right one. The ride-on scrubber is as maneuverable as walk-behind version but latter offers added advantage of working well even in extra narrow spaces. However the ride-on version offers more productivity because it covers greater area is less time compared to the walk-behind: off-course the down side is its higher initial cost, which can be recovered after sometime because it offers better return on investment than the walk-behind version. It depends upon the end user on what type of automatic scrubber floor drier he or she requires for cleaning purposes.
